Aurora Dreams

Last night one of my dreams came true - I saw the Aurora Borealis. I had to walk down a very dark road and through the forest to get to the lake...felt a bit silly though but I had a feeling that tonight was THE night. Was a bit scared by the thought of being attacked by bears or some wild animal. Shadows casted funny shapes on the branches and leaves and I jumped once at my own shadow. Finally I came through a little clearing with the view of the water. After getting over the spookiness of the dark, the beauty of the night gradually loomed before me. Millions and millions of stars were in the sky that night. You could see their little points of light reflecting from the calm inky surface of the lake. There was total silence and the trees occasionally rustled (from the wind?)Quietly I waited, not knowing how long I would stand there in the cold. It was after 5-10 minutes or so when the lowest stars started to dazzle and shimmer very brightly....something was happening off the horizon. I looked again, not sure if it was my imagination. There it was, that red low star and the white one off to the left flashing like mad. Slowly slowly, a white shadow like a moving cloud appeared. It began changing shape and before I knew it, a band like a very faint greenish arc materialized over the horizon. It moved constantly; sometimes like a line, sometimes like a cloud, sometimes getting brighter and sometimes fading away.. It was a very shy aurora, not very bright but nevertheless one which was there; which I have waited for a long time to see. It remained in the sky with me, doing its little dance in the sky. Slowly, it moved to the left, blocked by the trees and out of view and finally was no more.

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures with me. However at the exact hour, a few kilometres away at another lake, Nicolas Zea, a photographer in Umea was photographing it. He's kindly given me permission to post it which is the photo you see here now.

Life Changing Experiences

I met up with Kim Chu online and we had a nice chat. She's now setting up her own child learning experience centre now. Whilst chatting I heard that Khay Ling got married in London to her sweetheart she met in her AIESEC traineeship in India.

Now I look back 7 years ago how I was going to INTI college to recruit some SNs (Student Nominees in AIESEC terms). It was a new initiative which I was interested to pursue with the encouragement of my EB members because it was something new which LC UKM hadn't done before. It's funny how this event in my life connected to the current lives of others. If we hadn't gone to INTI, we wouldn't have met Khay Ling and if Khay Ling hadn't decided to go to India, she wouldn't have met Lasse and if she hadn't met Lasse, she wouldn't be in London now, happily married.

Life sure works in mysterious ways

Graffitti

Seen spray painted on the road, in between Alidhem and the university

"Kill Your Boyfriend"

500m further on

"Kill Your Girlfriend"

Otherwise, Umea is 'graffitti'less and spotless

Two Worlds

She hurried down the street determinedly, as if a hurricane was blowing her persistently from behind. A man walking in the opposite direction almost collided into her...little did he know that the inner force driving her was the motor in her mind whispering 'Go, go, go'...Her mind was in the future; what she needed to do in the next five minutes, what she would be doing in the next 5 days, the next 2 months, checking lists mentally, calculating.

She walked leisurely down the beaten path - there were bikers deftly maneuvering between the pedestrians. How she admired them...they must feel powerful on their spindly machines. Two women were walking in front of her, casually talking about something 'the weather?' she wondered... The wind was blowing, the gust of wind against her, trees rustling, the sound of 'flap-flap-a-flapping' in her ears. She has never felt so in the moment....so in the now.

Top of the World

Slung from a plane out of Milan, jettisoned across Paris and Stockholm to land on the Top of the World, also known as Umea. UmeĆ„ is about 600 km north of Stockholm at 63°50′N, 20°15′E and about 400 km south of the Arctic Circle -that's what I mean - way up there....Umea could be any other small town in the American Mid-West albeit with birch trees and a lot more watery inlets. I find it difficult to believe that I am that far up north - probably the furthest any of my living relatives have ever been - could travel to Kiruna too and push the benchmark a little higher.

So what does it feel like to be here? Frankly speaking, a little daunting. They weren't joking when they said the city centre was a cross-junction between two roads. When the plane taxied down the runway, there were only trees, miles of trees, carpetful of trees i.e. birch, firs ...and where were the buildings?...Of course I'm exaggerating about the cross-road thingy. Umea is pretty developed for a little big town...but I do miss Milanese buses - at least I knew when it would arrive. Here, all that's missing were those temporal indicators at the bus stop and the buses themselves. We could wait forever in the cold and not know when one would come.

Missed too were the occasional city plans and road notices. I guess being so small, no one would need a map anyway - oh, the grocery? Take a right at the first tree, then left and follow the sun. whoo pee

Will go to sleep now - tomorrow am going to catch a fish for dinner and pick some mushrooms.....hej do!

Romping Roma, Navigating Napoli and Caprice in Capri,

Was back in Rome for a day last Friday to collect my Swedish Visa. And so thus far, the Trevi Fountain thingy was true. One coin to return to Rome, and another for your wish to come true. Down one, another to go. I did the 1-hour Vatican shimmy from St Peter's to the Vatican Museum along with all the other tourists. The Sistine Chapel was great except that they didnt let us take any pictures....but I did anyway just for the heck of it. Also had the chance to visit the 100 Flavour-Gelati shop near the Pantheon....took a conno 3-Gusti pistachio crema, Cioccolato con Cannella and Miele con susamu. yummyyyy

Saturday went to Napoli by train and took a ferry to the Isle of Capri....Caaapri....not caPri. NO one understood us when we first pronounced it. Capri was lovely..a private playground for the rich and famous, the poverina like us could also enjoy the fantastic views on the coastline. Had a mishap when climbing a natural arch...landed on the coccyx but fortunately bum had a lot of fat to cushion the fall. Otherwise, Capri too had those quiet spots of wonder which I found in Venice and Bologna...those little nooks and crannies that make you wonder 'Is this a dream?'

As for Napoli, the day ended with me arguing with a ego centric hostel owner which ended my day sourly somewhat. The girls in my room ( 2 from Austria, 2 from Germany and 1 from Scotland) made the evening more bearable with a glass or two of wine and beer. Francy came late and we could only spend the little time together over breakfast. And Napoli pizza is good, believe me.

So all good things come in 3s for me - the Rome-Napoli-Capri trip was a welcome break in the break.....stattbuon for me now!

Hala Turkiye'yi

Exams finished, friends gone, things shipped; I took the opportunity to return back to Turkey for a week. It was a trip down memory lane, trying to fit 6 months worth of memories in 7 days. Unforeseen events threatened to mar my trip i.e. Delayed flights and change of schedules (I hate MYAIR!), lost money, etc but providence played the better part, thank God.

Anyway, back to Turkey...it will always be what I call 'Magic Land' for me. Magic because no other country evokes such a sense of mystery and wonder for me...Taking a trip across the Bosphorus on a ferry from Uskudar to Eminonu - my most treasured experience. And this time thanks to Erkan, I got a motorbike tour all around Istanbul.

Funnily, Turkey always gave me 2 good friends to travel with - in 2002 it was Luciana and Tatjana. Tatjana left and then came Mihaela. Now in 2007. it was Pek Yen and Yanti...Fethiye mates (according to Pek Yen) Fethiye was blazing hot and the harbour and islands are still amazing. Did some swimming and jumped off the top deck for old times sake.

I also had a chance to visit Aya Sofia - didnt do that the last time I was in Istanbul due to being a poor trainee in Istanbul. Then the 10 million TL was a little dear. But I am glad I did this time around - it is truly beautiful on the inside. I love the quiet spots in the huge halls...where one can have a space of their own away from the crowds and quietly swim in a pool of thoughts.

After spending 6 months in Scotland and Milan, somehow that 6 months in 2002 in Turkey was more intense and vibrant. Maybe time has mellowed my senses. Nevertheless I was happy to be back and rejuvenated. The beauty of Turkiye was something which I didn't see, but felt in the heart and that was what I needed.

Ultima settimana

It's the last week when we're going to be together in Milano. Time sure is flying, we say...and when the curtain call comes, we will be off on our own adventures. Had our Part 2 MSPME Farewell party in Aula 2.8 which once again was a memorable one. Course Director Antonio Calabrese, Our Risk Professor, Franco Caron, DMQM Rocco Mosconi, MIP IT Guy and best-loved Ciro Marconi was there. They have made an impression in our lives and we, they. The atmosphere was nostalgic and feel-good...only when we realize how short the time is do we truly appreciate one another and the friendships that we have.

Don't be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can
meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes,
is certain for those who are friends."
- Richard Bach

To our Italian friends in MIP, thank you for your generosity and kindness...till we meet again!

Life is Like a Spring Roll/Samosa/Dumpling...

" Mah momma used tuh tale me thaaayt...."

It's the exam season again...and chances are, there'd be a cooking-frenzy in the kitchen. Noticed this phenomena of the high correlation between culinary hyperactivity and exam frequency since Edinburgh. Hence after the Management Accounting trauma on the 28th, the madness began. First there was a Indian samosa and Chinese dumpling roll-out (literally - required = hands to roll + stuff + close + decorate with fork + fry = the whole works!), then a debate on the stuffing (vegetarian vs non-veggie), then the Vietnamese spring roll( again ; stuff + wrap + fry), then the dessert ( peach float yummy!), the spicy Thai Salad and a last-minute rice and vermicelli addition. The result was an awesome array of savoury delicacies of the East; Vietnam, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines withal ameliorating into each other (some of the dumpling and spring roll stuffing went into the samosas and vice versa). It was undoubtedly una fiesta rievocare....(Want the same to happen in your kitchen? Get bunch of MSPME students and give them an exam...on second thoughts, give them a million bucks...) And truly as Forrest sez.....

"...You never know what you're going to get!"

Cinque Terre

Sun, Sea, Sand, a little surf.

Went to the coastal region of Liguria to the province of La Spezia where the UNESCO heritage site, Cinqueterre, is. The troop was Vanessa, Mai, Ernesto, Jas, Vilma, Fiona and Kirill. Last Saturday was perfect with not-too-hot weather and a little breeze. Cinque Terre is as 'bellissimo' as they say it is....5 quaint little villages along the craggy cliffs off the multi-blue meditarranean sea. It was nice too to be travelling in company.

Took train from Milan to Riomaggiore, the first village. After traversing the streets (one street actually), walked down Via Dell'Amore (along the cliffs by the sea) to 4th village called Vernazza. Vernazza = cliff-diving areas....didnt - satisfied with getting sneakers splashed by sea instead. Ambled down the path for 1 hour to 3rd village of Corniglia and hopped on train straight to 2nd village (Manarola) as some wanted to swim, while other stomaches were rumbling already. Had a good lunch (mine was a cendol-looking Ligurian pasta with green pesto sauce) and thereon to the beach in Monterosso al Mare. Al mare! Prima volta swimming in the sea since leaving Malaysia. One thing about beaches here are the rocks!....Talk about getting a free Reflexology massage... pretty tough on the feet and the sea is extra salty too. Never mind....after wading around for an hour, capped off the day with the 4 hour journey back to Milan....(have funny photos of Ernesto and Mai so that was good too)

Circumlocuting Prolix

Ok, it has been some moments since I last inscribed anything substantial on my blog other than sporadically affixing junky websites and videos... Compassed my Management Accounting Examination today. I am still coming to terms with the fact that I am having exams and assignments... Expeditiously I need to join the MSPME 'Veteran's Club'!

Came into happenstance of my Umea, Sweden, course schedule. It is onerous to fathom how the ages ravine so precipitately - we are almost through with the term in Milan, Italy... and it seems that the tides of time are sweeping us by... Oh yesterdays! You malingers of reason!... I adore the warm weathers but it seems that I am ordained to possess it briefly.

After having much operose due the recent labor, this weekend my cronies and I will traverse the quaint villages of Cinque Terre which is approximately 4 hours by train from Milan. Thus we shall procreate untrodden paths of amicability, fraternity and furthermore proliferate my already prodigious collection of photos.

(This enrty is dedicated to those wisecrackers who discovered this circumambage - you know who you are)

For those lovers of great Italian music....thank you Antonio F!

Mulling in Mulhouse

Spent the weekend in Mulhouse with Paul and Jacqueline. It was a very interesting time of self and people discovery.

Discovered that I speak terrible French but I had a great time there thanks to my dear hosts. The people are really friendly and neighbourly like the ones you see on TV . Nevertheless it was a time away in a time away and time passed fairly quickly and before I knew it the 3 days were up.

Arrived in Milan 3 hours late....Several French, Swiss, Italian and Syrians pushed the Eurolines bus because it ran out of battery and the diagnosis was done by a Hongkee passenger who was a bus engineer.Talk about bizzarro.

Absent Friends

My heart absorbs me more and more;
My world of friendship narrows in.
The new I hardly care to win;
The old are fewer than of yore.

For never one have I forgot;
Their voices in my heart I hear;
I am myself their souvenir

Lina Joy

2 - 1”. The Justices had decided; the Federal Court would uphold the position that Malaysian civil courts had no jurisdiction over the case of Lina Joy, a Christian who was born Azlina Jailani. The Syariah courts would have her, and apostasy is a punishable offence. "

I love my country but there are failures running it.

Back to Grind....

Ok, here we go again....assignments, exams, deadlines bla bla. Check out some of my coursemate's MSN Nicks....

"Quantifying quality is driving project management crazy!"

"Fed up fed up! - trabajando, ke terror!"

"Enjoying chilled sangria" (???)

We are a pretty fun bunch...considering some of our eccentricities (like assignment extensions and the occasional sleeping in class) . I guess we were lucky to have lived together on campus in Edinburgh. This bonded us somewhat which provided the support network for a bunch of foreigners living in a foreign land. There's also the lack of local interaction - which looking at the way the course was designed is somewhat a drawback but no one's complaining.

And so here we are again, deja-vu.....invasion of the assignments, exams and last minute working. Dai dai dai.....buh

Good and Bad Memories

Do you have a medicine for cuts? I cut my finger today.

" I got plaster...Or Tiger Balm but I don't think Tiger Balm can put on cuts"

No, no I don't think so. I want something for cuts. Stupid glass, I was washing it (makes movement) and the piece came out and I cut myself.

"Yeah, the glass is not good quality...The other day, Nga also broke the glass, she just touched it and then don't know how, the piece came off"

Stupid glass. Not good quality one.

Pause

I'm going to take a picture....

"Iyee.....Why?? it's not a good memory"

It looks weird. I want to remember this.

After all why not remember bad memories? All memories serve a purpose.

Life is a marathon

God bless, completed my 2nd marathon. After the 21st km this time in Prague, I felt my legs getting numb and I knew I was in trouble. Didn't feel like this while in the Rome marathon. But nevertheless I persisted...better go slow than to stop. And so goes life....

It was great to stand at the start with everyone cheering and raring to go - the gentleman next to me was enthusiastic and asked me if it was my first marathon. I said it was my second. Then someone patted me on the back. They were Italian 'golden' marathoners...aged in their 50s but with times of 4h and less! The lady next to me asked me where I was from, and I said 'Malaysia'. She was Czech returning from the US and running her 5th marathon. And like in life you never know when you'll meet nice accompaniments such as these who'll give you encouragement and good will.

Towards the 38th, I started walking, no amount of bananas or sugar cubes could make me run to the next station -couldn't feel my legs anymore. Felt a bit disappointed with myself but I wanted to finish it. Everyone else was walking too....At the 41st, someone behind me said 'Allez!', my favourite song started playing and the volunteers were so cheerful so I picked it up again and ran like nothing all the way to the finish line. And like in life, never give up! "The Pain is Temporary but the Pride is Forever"

First Christmas in Edinburgh

Spent a really nice Christmas dinner with a few of the MSPME course people - we had a pot luck on the eve with all of us cooking something from our native lands. There was salad, baked potatoes with cheese, a really delicious eggplant thing from Prasad's wife (called "vankaya"), beriyani rice, 'kheer', lentil soup, a biscuit cake, pickled rice, omelette, 'aloo ghobi' . The 8 of us really stuffed ourselves but it was really nice with the candle light and all.
On Christmas day itself, there was another feast prepared by American Phd student Robert Lamar and some friends at the chaplaincy. About 20 students left behind in campus for Christmas showed up. We played pictionary and I borrowed some books from the chaplaincy to fill in the long weeks before term reopens in January.

England Road Trip

For the hols, 7 of us packed it in a Vauxhall Zafira on a road trip to the south in a land called England. After leaving wee bonnie Scotland on December 17th, we got lost along the way, argued a lot, ate too much Pizza hut, saw a lot of cathedrals and old buildings, played cards, ran a lot, had a flat tyre 22 miles from Edinburgh and did some ASDA shopping at the end. Total time taken: 6 days, money spent: 270 pounds, miles travelled: 1200, memories made: priceless.

Dublin!

Went to Dublin with Amy and her friend KC last week.

I've always been curious about the Irish and now I've the chance to satisfy that curiousity. Do they really drink as much as they say they do? Do they speak with the brogue? Will I turn green?

Dublin was a real surprise - unlike what I expected. It's a mix of the old and the new - The night life is livelier than Edinburgh's with friendlier approachable people. KC mostly led the excursion with his tastebuds as the main navigator. We had indian food at 1am in the morning (arrived there at 1pm), kebab for lunch, irish coffee, bailey's coffee, irish stew and lots of Guiness!

Ireland's sons and daughters are big - Oscar Wilde, U2, George Bernard Shaw, Yeats, Frank McCourt, The Corrs , etc...they were all from Dublin.

The Guiness Factory and Trinity College are the best attractions. I'm addicted to Guiness now - Isaac and Vanessa think I've gone alcoholic.

And so to answer my questions; yes, the Irish drink as much as they say they do - our taxi driver from the airport has the brogue, everyone else was understandable and I turned green with all the guiness in me.

Long live the paddy's!

Anstruther, Pittenweem and St Andrew's

Last Saturday the Chaplaincy brought us on a trip to the fishing villages of Anstruther, Pittenweem and St. Andrew's. Quaint little cottages by the sea, fresh fish and chips, old ruined cathedrals, ancient universities and a round of golf....a very interesting Saturday indeed

November Days

On Thursday everyone was late to class. Normally it starts at 10.15am but this time it was 9.15am. The funny thing was, the lecturer was late herself. So Jasmine and I took pictures on this nice November autumn day. I just love the colours

Paris!

Made a trip to France on October 27th ...I know I'm so lazy that I'm only updating it now. These are photos of my most memorable places in Paris.

1) The Bookshop
I remember blogging about Shakespeare and Co and its like the Twilight Zone coming here. I saw the beds and all in the bookshop. There was a title on the wall "Be not Inhospitable to Angels Lest They be Angel's in Disguise"...how apt. The shop sells old and new books stacked wall to wall on the 2 floors. Exactly how I'd picture it.

2) Montmartre
Another little place that I like was Montmartre - its on top of the hill just a short stroll from Moulin Rouge. You have a fantastic view of the city from the top. And a little hidden away is a market for artists - you can see painters at work here and also buy a few paintings for your own. Really quaint....you could imagine all the old masters doing the same some 100 years back

3) The Eiffel Tower
Who doesn't love the Eiffel Tower? It's much shorter than I expected it to be but nevertheless just as majestic as the picture in my mind. The line was so long, it snaked both ways under the tower- didn't feel like going up then. The tower is even better by night - at one point it starts flashing little blue lights as if it were showering stars - really lovely.

Thoughts while Plodding

Feeling sleepy now....Why do we do the things we do? Are we the things that we do? Went for a jog and did some laundry in between. We took the new route in the forest next circling the campus - lots of leaves on the ground as autumn approaches. (goodness its autumn!) The weather was lovely , slightly chilly with promise of clear blue skies in the day time. Feet squishing on black mud (eek!), I run on, plod, plod, plod, see a rabbit run along the path, plod, plod, plod, see a squirrel scampering in the corner of my eye. I'm lost in thought while running. What is -30 degrees like? I can't imagine running like this in Umea - first of all, what is 0 degrees like? Green shadows of the trees, run past trying to see the path.(will I see a scottish ghost in the mist) Run on, no sweat, annoyed...Finally I see the path, like one would see when you're just going on with life trying to get by day by day.

MSPME

The Masters of Science in Strategic Project Management is a 16 months course which focuses on the interconnected themes in project management: strategy, control, integration. The best thing about it is that the award will be done by all 3 institutions of learning:

Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh (United Kingdom): Master of Science in Strategic Project Management (European).

Politecnico di Milano, Milano (Italy): Master Universitario di I livello in Strategic Project Management.
UmeƄ University,

UmeƄ (Sweden): Magister in Management (Master of Science in Management).

In study period one, Heriot-Watt University provides level strategic underpinning to project planning, strategy formulation and implementation in organisations.

In study period two at MIP School of Management - Politecnico di Milano, the focus is on the function, purpose, creation and management of appropriate control mechanisms in strategic projects.

In study period three at USBE, UmeƄ School of Business, students embed their learning using an integrated and research-based approach to strategic thinking and project management, through two integrated modules and a Master level Thesis.

As it seems, the best things comes in 3's.

The key-people in my reflections of this experience is as follows:

Dr.Paul Gardiner, Course Director

Lothian No.25

OK here's my blog entry for this week. Got a reminder from Ghaz and Jas today that I had a blog (thanks ladies)

Edinburgh has a bus company called 'Lothian'. I've always wondered what that meant. Here's the wikipedia definition:

Lothian (Lodainn in Gaelic) forms a traditional region of Scotland, lying between the southern shore of the Firth of Forth and the Lammermuir Hills. It takes its name from the semi-legendary Brythonic King Loth or Lot. Subsequent Scottish administrative history saw it subdivided into the shires of West Lothian, Midlothian and East Lothian.

Anyway, for a Lothian bus, it's 2.30pounds for a day-ticket which you can have unlimited rides the whole day. Philip (my Chinese neighbour next door, who occasionally can be heard singing Boulevard of Broken Dreams through the walls) had the brilliant idea of buying one ticket, run your errands, come back, pass it on to someone else and divide the cost. Smart eh?

Berries bErries BerRies

I'm fascinated by the berries here. I see them everywhere - on campus, outside my halls, on the fields and even on the roadsides. They're getting redder and juicier as the days go by. I wonder if they can be eaten. Cathy (from Athletics Club) says some of them could but I'd better not try.

After settling down for about 2 weeks now in Heriot-Watt Uni in Edinburgh, my typical days now begin with my 7am morning runs. Warned my course mates that I'm a freak - 2 or 3 of them now join me occasionally for a jog around the campus grounds.

Every training has its unique moments. Sometimes its a reflectful jog in the woods, or seeing some swans and mandarin ducks on the canal. At times it's fighting the blustering freeze or pouring rain.

Sometimes there are glorious sunrises with pink and purple blazing the sky or it could be grand dark clouds overhead with mists rising over below.

And so I wonder : Isn't life like a jog in the mornings? It has its moments and it has its mundanity - but if I'd stopped jogging and stayed in bed, life would be so much less.

The Riddle

There was a man back in '95
Whose heart ran out of summers
But before he died, I asked him

Wait, what's the sense in life
Come over me, Come over me

He said,

"Son why you got to sing that tune
Catch a Dylan song or some eclipse of the moon
Let an angel swing and make you swoon
Then you will see... You will see."

Then he said,

"Here's a riddle for you
Find the Answer
There's a reason for the world
You and I..."

Picked up my kid from school today
Did you learn anything cause in the world today
You can't live in a castle far away
Now talk to me, come talk to me

He said,

"Dad I'm big but we're smaller than small
In the scheme of things, well we're nothing at all
Still every mother's child sings a lonely song
So play with me, come play with me"

And Hey Dad
Here's a riddle for you
Find the Answer
There's a reason for the world
You and I...

I said,

"Son for all I've told you
When you get right down to the
Reason for the world...
Who am I?"

There are secrets that we still have left to find
There have been mysteries from the beginning of time
There are answers we're not wise enough to see

He said... You looking for a clue I Love You free...

The batter swings and the summer flies
As I look into my angel's eyes
A song plays on while the moon is hiding over me
Something comes over me

I guess we're big and I guess we're small
If you think about it man you know we got it all
Cause we're all we got on this bouncing ball
And I love you free
I love you freely

Here's a riddle for you
Find the Answer
There's a reason for the world
You and I...

Memory Window Somewhere in 1993

Place : Cheras

Weird Dreams

1) The Family Squad
One famous millionaire, fell in love with a fatguy. Had to convince him that he (the fat guy) had a sex-change. Beauty contest. Dead body in van and boat. Saved by fishes

2) The Mobile Bank (Movie show)
Went to see a movie. Bought tickets at a mobile van. Thought it was a ticket booth. Bought it from a cute guy. Confusion. Came out and realized that it was a bank. Tried to get money back but cute guy turned out to be a crook.Helped by Chinese guy.

3) Going to meet Grandma
Went to see grandma in Kepong. Fond out Jenny was staying there for time-being to go to Chou's family an faster than ever.

4) The Capture of Me by The Black Slaves
While running, black slaves made a remark like "Why a pale girl running alone?" Scared. Then suddenly, alley turned dark and I was caught by an ugly looking black slave that had red bushy (spiky) hair.

5) The Making of the Queen
Put in cage. Later on was made into an important person because ruler of the black slaves were fond of me. He was like a blue and yellow soft toy (Big), like a Barney dinosaur.

6) The Return
Decided to return and see Grandma and see how Jenny and my so-called bf went. Sister saw me out and I was wearing a camel shirt and pants. Had an umbrella that could carry me like a parachute. The smaller I opened it, the lower it went and vice versa. Went west direction. It was raining.

Memory Window 11.30pm 6th March 2000

Place : Faro

Fiona: Well, we're still at the table, in the little restaurant, somewhere in the little town of Faro. Everybody's laughing, everybody's talking (at least Pooi Ling, Yuko, Ms Tunisia, Natasha and me)...but it's all talking and joking here...a very merry atmosphere. Now I know what it means to "eat, drink and be merry".

It's the final meal of ITC in Portugal - What am I feeling? Tired mostly; but now I feel nothing. It's like my mind's separated from my body. Though I can hear everyone talking and laughing, it feels like I'm not part of it anymore...but yet I'm thinking...

Whatsername

by Greenday

Thought I ran into you down on the street,
Then it turned out to only be a dream,
I made a point to burn all of the photographs,
She went away and then I took a different path,
I remember the face,
But I can't recall the name,
Now I wonder how whatsername has been

Seems that she disappeared without a trace,
Did she every marry old what's his face,
I made a point to burn all of the photographs,
She went away and then I took a different path,
I remember the face,
But I can't recall the name,
Now I wonder how whatsername has been

Remember, whatever,
It seems like forever ago,
Remember, whatever,
It seems like forever ago,
The regrets are useless,
In my mind,
She's in my head,
I must confess,
The regrets are useless,
In my mind,
She's in my head,
From so long ago

And in the darkest night,
If my memory serves me right,
I'll never turn back time

Forgetting you, but not the time
